IDEA Explorers

Context

IDEA Explorers is a company reinventing learning through connected educational kits . Its mission: introducing children and their families to today's science and technology through lively storytelling and hands-on experiences .

To support this vision, Gary Cohen (founder of IDEA Explorers) entrusted me — paired with my developer Louis Langanay — with designing a complete digital ecosystem : a website and a mobile app built to extend the experience at home and make its playful, interactive content easy to access.

Project goals

Provide an immersive, intuitive platform for users.

Offer advanced features such as subscription management, kit interaction, and an interactive narrative progression .

Strengthen community engagement through collaborative spaces.

Ensure seamless synchronisation between the website and the mobile app.

My approach

I started by clarifying with Gary what the site should really embody. From there, several visual directions were proposed, each tailored to his audiences. The choice landed on a resolutely futuristic, immersive identity , reinforced by parallax effects to give the site visual depth.

At the same time, I didn't just sketch screens — I made sure every page fit into a coherent journey . These mockups evolved into an interactive prototype , a real testing ground that aligned everyone on the vision before moving to development.

Once that vision was shared, I rolled out a complete design system to speed up production and keep things consistent. The work continued in short sprints with Louis, with regular, testable deliveries and constant exchanges between design, development and client. My technical discussions with Louis helped refine the architecture and validate structuring choices: Next.js for performance and SEO, Stripe for reliable, easy-to-manage payments, and a database suited to the project's future growth.

This blend of methodological rigour and creative flexibility led to a robust digital ecosystem, true to IDEA Explorers' ambitions .
